The Strive II Committee connects with junior high school counselors and students to make them aware of Rotary and encourage the students to become leaders.
In 2001 Neenah Rotary asked the question: "What can we do to attempt to reach a younger group of students?". The answer to this question was discovered at the middle school level. Working with counselors from Neenah middle schools, Neenah Rotarian, Betsy Rozelle developed Strive II. In addition to providing students with leadership opportunities, Strive II also reinforces positive life style choices. Students are selected to participate in the program by teachers and counselors based upon active class participation and their leadership qualities.
Students participate in various team building events including a climbing wall. Programs are hosted at The Boys & Girls Brigade in Neenah under the supervision of Neenah Rotarians and "Brigade" staff. Program participants are treated to lunch and snacks courtesy of Neenah Rotary.
This past year Strive II was "adopted" as a community project by Leadership Fox Cities. Leadership Fox Cities, a program for developing future business leaders, is sponsored by The Community Foundation of the Fox Cities.
