Join us as we hear from former Badger Basketball players Dave Mader and Freddie Owens, as they discuss their time with the Wisconsin Badgers and playing in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. They'll also discuss the rigors of being a studen athlete, while trying to further their education.

Dave Mader played in 103 games over his five-year collegiate career at Wisconsin (2000-2004) and started 51 of them. In his final year as a Badger, Mader recorded a season-high seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field against Ohio State. Mader finished his senior year shooting 45.3 percent from the field and averaged over 10 minutes per game. He had 235 career rebounds, 109 of which were on the offensive end. Mader was part of a Final Four, two regular-season Big Ten Championships and a Big Ten Tournament Champion in his five years at UW.

Freddie Owens is a former Badger Basketball Standout. During his collegiate career as a student-athlete at the the Badgers won three Big Ten championships. In the 2001-02 season, Wisconsin shared the Big Ten regular season title while finishing with a 19-13 overall record and appearing in the second round of the NCAA tournament. The 2002-03 season concluded with Wisconsin winning back to back regular season Big Ten titles while finishing 24-8 overall and making an appearance in the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" on a game winning 3 pointer made by Owens. In the 2003-04 season, Wisconsin finished the season with a 25-7 overall while winning the Big Ten tournament championship and making an appearance in the NCAA second round.
